Robert Cumming is a distinguished art historian who has dedicated his life to the exploration of looking at art. After his career as a lecturer at The Tate Gallery, Cumming went on to establish the Christie’s Fine Arts Course, which has evolved into a global educational initiative. As a Professor of Art History at Boston University, his influence extends internationally. Robert’s books, translated into over 24 languages and sold over a million copies, are renowned for making art history both accessible and enjoyable..

Robert and Carolyn have lived in North Buckinghamshire for over 40 years. Carolyn, who was High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 2012/13, is a landscape garden designer, Parish Councillor and much involved with The Film Place (Buckingham’s Community Cinema). Their elder daughter Chloe is a practising equine Vet, and their younger daughter Phoebe works for a property company in Knightsbridge. They are both happily married with a child each who were born within 48 hours of each other! When time allows Robert diverts himself with being a grandparent, bee keeping, the family wine business, travel and writing.
